That night, sleep came to Susan like a thief. She tossed and turned, her mind restless. Each time she closed her eyes, flashes of light and strange feelings rushed through her. Finally, she drifted into a deep sleep and that was when she saw it.
She stood in a wide open hall, beautifully decorated with white roses and gold ribbons. Laughter filled the air, gentle music playing in the background.
She looked down and saw herself in a stunning white wedding dress, the kind she’d only seen in magazines. Her face glowed with joy, pure, peaceful, unexplainable joy.
But when she turned to see the man beside her, his face was hidden in light. She tried to move closer, to see who it was, but the scene began to fade, leaving only his voice echoing in her ears, soft and familiar.
She woke up suddenly, heart pounding, her pillow damp with tears. She sat up and pressed a hand to her chest. “What’s happening to me?” she whispered.
It wasn’t just a dream, it felt too real, too warm. And for reasons she couldn’t explain, she felt safe in that dream, like she belonged there.
Over the next few nights, the same dream kept returning. Each time, the image grew clearer, and the peace she felt in her sleep began to haunt her during the day.
She found herself thinking about God, about the things Richard had told her, and about her own life.
Meanwhile, Richard, still uncertain how to handle what God had shown him, decided to take a step back. He knew this journey wasn’t about him proving anything, it had to start with Susan herself.
If God was truly at work in her, then He would draw her in His own way. So, Richard prayed quietly every night, asking God to finish what He had started in her heart.
