In a village a boy named Kofi tries to capture the sunset because he wants to possess its beautiful golden light. He climbs a mountain and stretches out his hands to grab it, but an old man stops him. The old man explains that if Kofi takes the sunset, the moon will be too afraid to rise, the stars won't know where to shine, and the night will lose its magic. He teaches Kofi that the most beautiful things aren't meant to be held ,they are meant to "hold" us, just as stories hold a community together. Kofi returns home with an empty basket given to him by the old man, but also with a new story to share by the fire, realizing he has brought back something far more valuable than gold.
