Synopsis

Chapter One — The Knock The rain had been falling since evening. David sat alone in his small apartment, staring at his phone while the sound of rain hit the window. It was almost midnight. He had just decided to sleep when he heard three knocks on his door. Knock. Knock. Knock. David froze. Nobody visited him that late. He slowly stood up and walked toward the door. “Who is there?” There was no answer. He looked through the small opening in the curtain beside the door, but the compound was dark. Then the knocking came again. Knock. Knock. Knock. His heart began beating faster. David finally opened the door slightly. And then he saw her. A woman stood outside in the rain, completely soaked. David couldn't believe his eyes. “Sarah?” She looked at him without saying a word. It had been three years since he had last seen her. Three years since she disappeared without explaining why. Three years since David had promised himself that he would never forgive her. But now she was standing right in front of him. Older. Tired. And holding a small baby in her arms. David stared at the child. Then he looked back at Sarah. “Why are you here?” Sarah's eyes filled with tears. “I need your help.” David almost laughed. “After three years?” She lowered her head. “I had nowhere else to go.” David wanted to close the door. He wanted to tell her that whatever problem she had was no longer his business. But then the baby began crying. Sarah hugged the child closer. “David…” He looked at the baby again. Something about the child's face made him uncomfortable. A thought suddenly entered his mind. A thought he didn't want to believe. “Who is the father?” he asked. Sarah didn't answer. “Sarah, I asked you a question.” She slowly raised her eyes to meet his. “You are.” David stopped breathing. The rain continued falling. And for the first time in three years, David realized that the story Sarah had told him before she disappeared might have been a lie. But he didn't yet know the biggest secret of all. The baby wasn't the only thing Sarah had brought back with her. To be continued…

Chapter One — The Knock

The rain had been falling since evening.

“Who is there?”

There was no answer.

“Sarah?”

She looked at him without saying a word.

“Why are you here?”

Sarah's eyes filled with tears.

“I need your help.”

David almost laughed.

“After three years?”

She lowered her head.

“I had nowhere else to go.”

David wanted to close the door.

He wanted to tell her that whatever problem she had was no longer his business.

But then the baby began crying.

Sarah hugged the child closer.

“David…”

He looked at the baby again.

Something about the child's face made him uncomfortable.

A thought suddenly entered his mind.

A thought he didn't want to believe.

“Who is the father?” he asked.

Sarah didn't answer.

“Sarah, I asked you a question.”

She slowly raised her eyes to meet his.

“You are.”

David stopped breathing.

The rain continued falling.

And for the first time in three years, David realized that the story Sarah had told him before she disappeared might have been a lie.

But he didn't yet know the biggest secret of all.

The baby wasn't the only thing Sarah had brought back with her.
