A Nigerian couple on a ferry from Sweden arrive at Estonia. The man and woman are both carrying a lot of luggage. After leaving the boat they go to wait for a taxi to take them to an apartment that they planned to rent for 3 nights.
Teni: Baby, do you have the address of the apartment?
Ray: Yeah, let me just check my phone. (One piece of luggage falls
down).
Teni: Babe, when are you going to change that suitcase? It’s not
practical and it slows you down.
Ray: It’s fine na. I’ve been using it for years but the wheels are just a little bit crooked. (Teni eyeballs him). Anyway, I’ll change it next time I travel.
Teni: – You know I can give you one of mine. I’ve got about six.
Ray – Don’t worry babe. I’ll sort it out. Look there’s a taxi coming.
Teni – Finally. You’ll tell the driver where we’re going, right?
Ray – Sure.
(White taxi driver stops and nods at Ray).
Ray – Hi. We’re going to Narva Mantee 32.
Taxi driver – Ok. (Driver gets out of the car, opens the boot and stands there while Ray drops his massive suitcase waiting for it to be loaded into the car)
Teni – Baby (whispers) we’re not in Nigeria. In Estonia they won’t help you with your luggage. You have to load it yourself.
Ray – (Aside) Seriously? Even when I’m the one paying? How rude. Maybe it’s because I’m black.
(Ray clumsily loads the luggage into the boot. The driver and the couple enter the car and they leave the harbor).
(End of scene)
