Part 2: The Photograph

Mira’s pulse thundered in her ears.

The name Adrian Titan echoed through her mind like an alarm. She’d heard of him — the ruthless billionaire who built an empire out of nothing. The man who could destroy a person’s career with one phone call.

And now he was staring at her like he’d just seen a ghost.

“Who’s the boy?” Adrian repeated, voice low but sharp enough to slice through her panic.

Mira forced a nervous laugh. “You’re mistaken, sir. He’s… my nephew.”

Adrian’s eyes darkened. “Don’t lie to me.” He stepped closer, his tall frame casting a shadow over her. “That child has my eyes. My jawline. Even the same dimple.”

Mira took a step back until her back hit the elevator wall. “You’re imagining things.”

“Am I?” he murmured, taking her phone and holding it up. “What’s his name?”

Her throat tightened.

Every instinct told her to run, but her feet wouldn’t move. “His name… is Eli.”

Adrian froze. The silence that followed was suffocating. “Eli?” he repeated slowly. “That’s the name you wanted for our child… five years ago.”

Mira’s breath caught. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “You… remember that?”

“I remember everything,” he said bitterly. “Including the day you vanished without a word.”

The elevator doors opened with a soft ding, but neither of them moved.

Mira swallowed hard, her voice trembling. “You don’t understand, Adrian. I had to leave.”

His jaw tightened. “You had to hide my son?”

Her eyes filled with tears, but her voice was firm. “You stopped being the man I knew, Adrian. I couldn’t let him grow up in your world — full of money, lies, and cold hearts.”

Adrian’s expression softened for a fraction of a second, then hardened again.

“You made a choice, Mira,” he said quietly. “Now it’s my turn.”

He handed her phone back, his eyes glinting with something dark and determined.

“Tomorrow morning, bring the boy to my office. I want a DNA test.”

Mira’s world spun. “What if I refuse?”

Adrian gave a faint, dangerous smile.

“Then I’ll find him myself.”
