Part 1: The Wrong Elevator

The morning Lagos sun glared off the glass walls of Titan Group Headquarters, where dreams and power collided every day.

Mira Daniels, clutching her worn brown handbag, took a deep breath before stepping inside. She had only one goal — deliver her friend’s forgotten file before the CEO noticed.

But fate, as always, had a sense of humor.

Mira pressed the wrong elevator button. Instead of the HR floor, she ended up on the top executive level, where only the most important people dared to go. The elevator doors slid open to reveal a man standing in an expensive black suit — tall, cold-eyed, and breathtakingly handsome.

“Who are you?” his deep voice cut through the air like a blade.

Mira froze. “I—I’m just here to drop a file, sir. I pressed the wrong—”

He took one step forward. The smell of his cologne — sharp and commanding — filled the space between them. “Do you know what floor you’re on?”

She swallowed hard. “Apparently… the wrong one.”

For a moment, he almost smiled, but it vanished as fast as it came.

“Next time,” he said quietly, “don’t wander into the lion’s den uninvited.”

Before she could reply, her phone slipped from her hand and landed at his feet. He bent to pick it up — and his eyes froze on the lock screen photo.

A little boy. With eyes just like his.

Their gazes met.

“Who is this?” he demanded, voice low and dangerous.

Mira’s heart pounded. She took a step back.

“It’s… none of your business, Mr…?”

He smirked faintly. “Adrian Titan. CEO. And now, it’s very much my business.”
